Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in expanding Mazi's swapping station network, ensuring smooth operations, and managing relationships with our partners. This role requires a mix of analytical thinking, coordination skills, and hands-on problem-solving
Key responsibilities:
1. Identify locations for swapping stations
Conduct market research and site assessments to identify optimal locations for new swapping stations.
Analyze data on traffic patterns, rider needs, and infrastructure to select suitable sites.
Coordinate with property owners and local authorities to secure approvals and agreements.
2. Collaborate with internal teams for successful launches and office operations
Work closely with Hardware, Software, and Commercial teams to ensure timely and smooth launches of swapping stations.
Provide operational insights during project planning and execution.
Monitor launch progress and address any issues to meet deadlines.
Oversee the Office Administrator as well as the Facilities & Office Support Associate
3. Manage swapping station partners
Build and maintain relationships with partners hosting our swapping stations
Address partner concerns and ensure compliance with Mazi's service standards.
Develop and execute plans to improve partner performance and user experience at each station.
4. Manage fleet operations
Oversee fleet operations to ensure riders meet required standards and operational guidelines.
Monitor rider performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency.
Coordinate with the Hardware team to ensure timely maintenance and availability of motorbikes.
Liaise with the Finance team to ensure proper reconciliation of rider accounts.
5. Conduct reporting and analytics
Prepare and present regular reports on station performance, fleet operations, and project milestones.
Provide insights and recommendations for improving operational efficiency.
Manage relevant weekly meetings and follow up on action items.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. Experience:
2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or project management.
Knowledge of importation processes and requirements for importing goods into Kenya is a plus.
3. Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Technical knowledge related to electric vehicle infrastructure or battery swapping systems is a plus.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Google Workspace is required; experience with project management software is a plus.
